Selena Gomez celebrated her 30th birthday over the weekend with a big party, just like she teased in her June interview with The Hollywood Reporter. Partygoer TJ shared a photo of Gomez posing at the fête and revealed her glitzy birthday girl outfit. The singer wore a sleeveless cream sequined turtleneck dress with a feather trim. She accessorized with hoop earrings and her hair appeared to be styled in a half-updo.
Last month, Gomez told The Hollywood Reporter that she intended to throw her own party and addressed how she feels about turning 30. “I am happy getting older,” she said. “I find that my toleration for any sort of discomfort, usually disrespect or whatever, even just unnecessary stuff—I feel so glad that it’s not taking over me anymore. My emotions are mine and I am allowed to feel them however I want to feel them. But I am having a party because I was like, ‘You know what? All my friends back home are married with kids, so I’m just gonna throw my own party.”
Friends at the party, based on social media posts, included Francia Raisa (who donated a kidney to Gomez), Sofia Carson, and more. Gomez also shared a photo of herself and longtime close friend Taylor Swift together on her birthday. She captioned the shot: “30, nerdy and worthy.”
It was a rare snap of the duo who has kept their friendship mostly private. Gomez last shared a photo of her and Swift together—far more casually—in March 2021. She wrote, “kinda missin this one.”
