We first spotted them in the striped colourway all over our Instagram feeds. Once we noticed a 160% increase in searches for Boden’s linen trousers, we soon discovered there were plenty more styles that were worth noting. It’s easy to see why these are so popular right now. Light and airy linen is a no-brainer in the summertime, whether you’re facing sweltering days or layering up on those cooler post-rain mornings. They feel put-together despite their comfortable nature and take little styling to make an impact.
Boden has a range of linen trousers, (which I’ll share below), but this particular striped pair is a real standout. Stripes have long been a feature of renowned capsule wardrobes, but rarely in this form. We tend to look to striped shirts, pinstripe tailoring or Breton jumpers as a way to play with the print, but this bolder style is an instant injection of fun. What’s more, striped trousers are surprisingly easy to style—just keep it simple. Chiara Perea (pictured) shows that a plain white tee and colourful shoes will make an easy-going yet considered ‘fit, whilst Kim Turkington (pictured below) carries on the ease with a simple button-down shirt and flip-flops.
