Love is all around! The cast of Sex/Life have sordid sexual encounters on the show, but off screen the stars’ love lives are a little tamer.

Netflix’s hit drama, which premiered in June 2021, follows the sexual escapades of married housewife Billie (Sarah Shahi) as she tries to navigate her desire to stay with husband Cooper (Mike Vogel) while also sleeping with ex-boyfriend Brad (Adam Demos).

“I have always been trying to get into projects like this. I just never got hired,” Shahi exclusively told Us Weekly in June 2021. “Everyone was always trying to hire me to be the tough chick and paid me to keep my clothes on. I’ve been wanting to be a bit risky and cry and show emotional vulnerability for a while now.”

The risqué role, however, wouldn’t have been as easy to pull off without her castmates, including Margaret Odette, who plays Billie’s BFF Sasha Snow. According to Shahi, the actors she worked with made it even easier to straddle the line of whether Billie can have it all — a married life with Cooper and a steamy sex life with Brad.

“You’re only as good as your scene partner and they are so phenomenal,” the Person of Interest alum told Us at the time. “They made my job very easy and they’re both easy to look at. So, oftentimes, I would joke with my mom, I’d just say, ‘I’m going into work,’ and she’d be like, ‘That’s not work because you got to work with Mike and Adam. That’s not called work.’ … [As a group,] we instantly had chemistry.”

Sarah Shahi

Us broke the news in June 2020 that the L Word alum and husband Steve Howey had split after 11 years of marriage. The pair, who wed in 2009, share son William and twins Violet and Knox, whom they welcomed in 2009 and 2015, respectively. Us exclusively confirmed that the Chicago Fire alum and the Shameless actor finalized their divorce in January 2021.

Shahi began dating Sex/Life costar Demos in 2020 after meeting on the set of the Netflix series that fall. The pair went public with their romance in January 2021 when the actress reflected on her good fortune on her birthday and gave her “love” Demos a shout-out.

Mike Vogel

On screen, Vogel has romanced some of Hollywood’s leading ladies, including Blake Lively in the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Emmy Rossum in Poseidon and Jessica Chastain in The Help.

In reality, the Under the Dome alum has been happily married to model Courtney Vogel since 2003. The lovebirds celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary in January 2021, with Mike calling Courtney the “chai of my life” whom he “cherishes.” The pair share daughters Cassy and Charlee, as well as son Gabriel, whom they welcomed in 2007, 2009 and 2013, respectively.

Adam Demos

The Australian actor’s love life was relatively private before he began seeing Sex/Life costar Shahi toward the end of 2020. The pair filmed the series that fall in Canada, which is where their romance began.

Demos confirmed their relationship status with a New Year’s Eve Instagram snap and went on to praise his love on her birthday the following month. “Happy bday my baby,” he captioned an apple-picking photo in January 2021. “I f*#kin love you. You’re everything.”

Margaret Odette

The New York City native, who plays Billie’s BFF Sasha, hasn’t shared much of her personal life with her fans. She appears to be single based on social media, having highlighted her family and friends in the Big Apple over the years, but no significant others.

Jonathan Sadowski

The Young & Hungry alum proposed to his longtime girlfriend and stylist Melissa Lynn in June 2015. The couple haven’t revealed whether they’ve tied the knot yet, but Lynn gave her fiancé a shout-out for his birthday in November 2020, while Sadowski showed her some love on Valentine’s Day in February 2021. Lynn has also styled Sadowski, who plays Cooper’s pal Devon on Sex/Life, for most of his press appearances related to the Netflix show.

Li Jun Li

The Quantico alum, who plays Cooper’s boss and possible love interest Francesca on Sex/Life, is seemingly single based on her social media accounts. However, she does have a special man in her life: her dog Toto. Li called him “my little man, the love of my life” in August 2019.
