Around the same time, Quija became a film, the rights from Magic 8 Ball had also been purchased to adapt the toy into a horror film. It’s been a whole 4 years since that was announced. So, it was tough to tell if the project was still in the works. But according to The New Yorker, it is decidedly so that the film is still in the works.
In fact, Cocaine Bear screenwriter, Jimmy Warden is attached to turn the popular family toy into a horror comedy.
As previously announced the Magic 8 ball film will come from Blumhouse and Jeff Wadlow.
The synopsis for Cocaine Bear went like this:
After a 500-pound black bear consumes a significant amount of cocaine and embarks on a drug-fueled rampage, an eccentric gathering of cops, criminals, tourists, and teenagers assemble in a Georgia forest.
