Human Hibachi: The Beginning wins Best NJ/NY Horror Film at the New Jersey Horror Con and Film Festival. Next stop, Human Hibachi: The Beginning joins Human Hibachi and Human Hibachi 2: Feast In The Forest on Troma Now!

Human Hibachi: The Beginning takes a brutal look at how Jin and the Human Hibachi films got their start in Japan, before he made his way to the United States.

The film stars Wataru Nishida as Jin, Nicholas Ear as Kenji, Illana Lo as Aya, and Zachary Chung Pun as Aikio. Directed by Mario Cerrito. FX by Charmaine Cerrito. Photography by Carl Roccia. Producers are Mario Cerrito, Michael Joy, John Hoehn, and Anthony F. Cicali III.

“Winning this award was very meaningful for a few reasons. Since I started filmmaking I have only done feature films and wanted to challenge myself by doing a short film and compete with the other great short films entered. To end up winning best NJ/NY film meant a lot. Secondly, this now gives all three films in the Human Hibachi franchise an award on their name.” – Mario Cerrito
