‘King On Screen’ Trailer – A New Stephen King Documentary,

master mentalism tricks

It’s a new week and that means a new batch of horror films are dropping into our living rooms. It is important to let your console take breaks in between dungeons in Diablo 4, so why not spend that time experiencing the latest horror films?

Cannibal Cabin June 13th VOD

Cannibal Cabin Movie Poster

Ok, we have backwoods cannibals in masks made of human skin hunting down and killing lost twenty-somethings. I feel like we have seen this plot before somewhere. Something similar may have happened in Texas back in the 70s.

This film stars Harvey Almond (Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story), Jane Buckle (Conjuring the Plastic Surgeon 2), and Muneeb Butt (Qalandar). Cannibal Cabin was written by Charley McDougall with directing performed by Louisa Warren (The Leprechaun’s Curse).

Now this may not be a deep psychological horror film that will be dissected and analyzed over the next decade, but not all films need to be. If you are looking for a new horror movie that will allow you to turn off your brain and just relax, give Cannibal Cabin a try. This film will be available to rent or buy via video on demand services starting June 13th.

The Hopewell Haunting June 13th VOD

The Hopewell Haunting Movie Poster

Religious horror loosely tied to actual events has been growing in popularity in the past ten years. Thanks in part to the Conjuring Universe and its depiction of the exorcists for profit Ed and Lorraine Warren.

The Hopewell Haunting stars Ted Ferguson (Breaking the Loop), Timothy Morton (New Cops), and Audra Todd (50 to 1). Written and directed by Dane Sears (Butcher Boys), this will be their debut film.

In a refreshing change of pace, the trailer for this film doesn’t give us too much information. But it does give off a strong feeling of dread and suspense. So, if you are looking for more of a slow burn when picking out a new horror movie, then check out The Hopewell Haunting. This film will be available to rent or buy on video on demand services starting June 13.

Scream of the Wolf June 13th VOD

Scream of the Wolf Movie Poster

I love a good homage film. Whether or not this film will be good is still up for debate. But from the trailer, we can see that Scream of the Wolf aka Wolf Manor is playing off of An American Werewolf in London.

Scream of the Wolf stars James Fleet (The Phantom of the Opera), John Henshaw (The Man Who Invented Christmas), and Nicky Evans (Shameless). Co-written by Joel Ferrari (Pandora), and debut writer Pete Wild (Scream of the Wolf) with directing performed by Dominic Brunt (Bait).

I’m a big fan of the horror movie within a horror movie trope. Given my fondness for meta horror, it’s easy to see why I’m excited about this film. If you are looking for some comedy in your new horror film, give Scream of the Wolf a try. This film will be available to rent or buy on video on demand services starting June 13.

Jagged Mind June 15th Hulu

Jagged Mind Movie Poster

Gaslighting has become a very popular term in the past few years. Jagged Mind takes that concept and kicks it up a notch by adding time loops of all things. Being in a controlling relationship can be awful, but at least most partners don’t have metaphysical superpowers.

Jagged Mind stars Maisie Richardson-Sellers (The Originals), Shannon Woodward (Westworld), and Rosaline Elbay (Ramy). Written by Allyson Morgan (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) with directing performed by Kelley Kali (I’m Fine).

Although nothing will ever top Groundhog’s Day, I am always excited to see a new time loop film. The trailer for this film promises a big budget mind-bending experience. If you are looking for a more modern feel in your new horror film, go give Jagged Mind a watch. This film will hit Hulu on June 15th.

Seire June 16th VOD

Seire Movie Poster

Everyone should be watching Korean horror films. From Train to Busan to The Wailing, some of the best modern horror has come from Korea. Seire promises to add to the long list of amazing horror films.

This Film Stars Seo Hyun-woo (Decision to Leave), Sun-young Ryu (Haunters), and Eun-woo Shim (The Closed Ward). Written and directed by Kang Park (Seire), this will be their debut film.

Seire asks the audience an important question. If you bring home bad vibes, will they infect your baby? Learning the folklore of different cultures not only makes us more well-rounded people, but it also gives us insight into the horror genre as a whole. If you are looking to add some K-horror to your new movie watch list, go watch Seire. This film will be available to rent or buy via video on demand services starting June 16th.
