Small Town Monsters is a series of documentaries that explore the lore and legends behind some of America’s most infamous “living” creatures. Their upcoming film American Werewolves is another one of those films and they deep dive into witness testimonials, pop culture reverence, and American folklore.

American Werewolves debuts on major streaming platforms on July 5th, from 1091 Pictures, including iTunes, Amazon Prime Video, Vudu and FandangoNOW. It is directed by Seth Breedlove and produced by Heather Moser.

The idea behind the film is to deep dive into the history and that documented cases of missing persons that may have “paranormal dogman” origins. Thousands of people go missing every year. Could werewolves be behind some of them?

This film is fueled by witnesses and personal accounts.

Comprised of around a dozen witness accounts, the film takes on the strange topic by giving those who have experienced it the space to directly present their encounters to the audience. Encounters discussed within the film range from brief run-ins on rural country lanes to horrifying, face-to-face confrontations that are the very fuel of nightmares. One witness even claims to have discovered the grisly, shredded remains of a werewolf victim.

Before you make any judgments, know that dozens of people report having experiences with upright walking dog-like creatures.

These beings often behave in alarming ways with many reports of a beast that is aggressive, ghastly, and disturbing. While many theorize that the Dogman is some sort of unidentified species of animal, others believe that this creature is something else.

From the missing jogger in Ohio to the mutilated body of an Alaskan hiker, werewolves might not only be the product of Hollywood imagination. According to this new doc, they could walk among us. And given the recent viral success of an Amarillo night vision camera capture, if anything, these creatures are a part of the American culture.
