David Gordon Green’s upcoming Exorcist trilogy is on the way and its breaking satanic ground with The Exorcist: Believer. The trilogy is being produced at Blumhouse. So, it is no surprise to have learned that Jason Blum has seen the first film in the trilogy and he has some good things to say.
During an interview with CinePop, the Producer said that The Exorcist: Believer is “good and it’s really scary” to boot.
The film is set to also star Ellen Burstyn. The actress is reprising her role as Kris MacNeil in the new film and is said to give support to a new parent who has crossed paths with the malevolent Pazzuzu.
The synopsis for the original Exorcist film went like this:
One of the most profitable horror movies ever made, this tale of an exorcism is based loosely on actual events. When young Regan (Linda Blair) starts acting odd — levitating, speaking in tongues — her worried mother (Ellen Burstyn) seeks medical help, only to hit a dead end. A local priest (Jason Miller), however, thinks the girl may be seized by the devil. The priest makes a request to perform an exorcism, and the church sends in an expert (Max von Sydow) to help with the difficult job.
The Exorcist: Believer is set to arrive in theaters beginning October 13.
