The expanse of the Australian outback is like the uncharted oceans of the world. There is still so much to explore that we will never know every mystery it contains. That’s probably why it makes for a great horror movie setting. Plus Australian filmmakers have an affinity for gore and that means extreme fans of the genre are likely to get satiated with buckets of blood.

Beaten to Death (2023)

If this is your cuppa tea, then you might want to check out the latest Outback horror movie Beaten to Death which will open in select theaters on September 1.

The movie’s director, Sam Curtain, is known for his bloody slashers, including Blood Hunt (2017; see trailer below), and The Slaughterhouse Killer (2020).

Australia has given horror movie fans some great films in the past. For instance the Wolf Creek movies and series and The Loved Ones. They also love their nature run-amok stories such as Rogue, Black Water, and Boar.

Beaten to Death (2023)
