Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War to Stream on Hulu, Disney+

The highly awaited Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War anime is set to release next week and fans in the U.S. won’t have to wait. VIZ Media has announced that Disney+ and Hulu will be streaming the series at its premiere.

In the announcement, VIZ confirmed that they had acquired the worldwide rights (excluding Asia and Arabic-Speaking Africa/Middle East) to launch the series, with the debut episode premiering on October 10, 2022. For international fans, Disney+ will carry the series, while the U.S. and select markets will have it available to them on Hulu. The episodes will also be simulcast in the U.S., so fans won’t have to wait any additional time to see the series.

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War comes from studio Pierrot and director Tomohisa Taguchi. Bleach anime character designer Masashi Kudo returns for work on this new series as well. In conjunction with the announcement, Viz Media announced that it had secured worldwide rights (excluding Asia) to the upcoming series.

While Bleach‘s anime became one of the most popular of all time during its run right up to its end in 2014, it never did catch up to the serialization of the manga, which ended in 2016. Following the manga’s end with the Thousand-Year Blood War, fans were left having to hope that an anime series would come at some point, but now they can be happy knowing it’ll be here soon.
