Users wanting to check out Warner Bros.’ Birds of Prey film on HBO Max this weekend were in for a surprise, as the film had seemingly been edited to a more TV-14 version. According to Warner Bros., though, this was more a simple mixup than anything else.

Johanna Fuentes —the Head of Global Communications at WarnerMedia — explained the situation, noting that there are two versions of the film that exist, one of which is an edited version that airs on broadcast television. It was the edited version that was accidentally added to HBO Max, leaving fans scratching their heads and assuming the worst.

Fuentes went on to say that the unedited, R-rated version of the film would be updated to HBO Max and that it will be the only version available on the platform after that. Currently, it’s unclear exactly when the film will be updated.
