Sentai Acquires Mushibugyo Anime Series

Sentai announced on Thursday that they had acquired the Mushibugyo anime series, and will begin distributing it to fans across the world.

Alongside the news of their acquisition, Sentai also announced that they would distribute the anime to audiences located in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, the Netherlands, Scandinavia, Spain, Portugal, Central America, and South America. This should cover most people who are interested in checking out the anime that might not have had the chance yet.

Mushibugyo is an anime based on a manga written by Hiroshi Fukuda that launched in 2009 and ran until 2010. The anime consisted of 26 episodes that originally premiered in April 2013, and ran through September 2013 when it came to an end. The series is directed by Takayuki Hamana, with animation from Seven Arcs Pictures. Yoshimitsu Yamashita provides character design for the series, while the score and music are handled by Yoichi Kato.

“Mushibugyo follows Jinbee Tsukishima, a young man striving to be a master swordsman like his father,” reads the official synopsis for the series. “To atone for a horrific incident that occurred at his fault, Jinbee seeks to take his father’s place as a member of the Insect Magistrate Office. On his journey there, he meets the lovely Haru, a young woman who helps manage her family’s tea house, and is forced to put his sword to good use in saving her from a grisly fate. This act of bravery that earns him a spot in the Insect Magistrate. Will this rookie exterminator be able to rid the land of the horde of insects swarming in?”
