Kali Uchis teams up with El Alfa and City Girls’

Fresh off the success of her third studio album, Red Moon in Venus, and a sold-out tour, Kali Uchis is back with more dates and more new music.

Featuring Dominican dembow singer El Alfa and City Girls’ JT, “Muñekita” is a grooving track with a fairly standard, irresistibly-dancey reggaeton beat (though Uchis has posted online that the album will not be primarily in the reggaeton style). Still, the single marks the onset of “a new era of Spanish-language music” for Uchis, according to the press release.

For her part, Uchis explained how excited she was to work with El Alfa and JT. She first connected with the artists via DMs, and the collaboration was born out of the three’s mutual admiration. “I love bringing artists together that you’d least expect,” Uchis said in a statement. “El Alfa is a Latino legend and JT is someone I’ve admired forever. Both of them are known for their summer hits and high energy, so I’m incredibly excited to bring them together for a fun, sexy song like this.”

Uchis also recently unveiled details for the upcoming “Red Moon in Venus Tour Pt. II,” which will take the 29-year-old artist to select cities in the western United States, including San Diego, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and more. She’ll be joined by openers Tokischa and Buscabulla. Plus, she’s slated to play Austin City Limits in October. Check out the full list of dates below, and grab your tickets here.
