New York indie darlings the Moldy Peaches have announced their first U.S. headline concert in 20 years. Kimya Dawson, Adam Green, Brent Cole, Jack Dishel, Toby Goodshank, and Steven Mertens announced their first European shows in 20 years late last year. Now, after stopping over in London, Barcelona, and Madrid, they will wrap things up with a show at New York’s Brooklyn Steel on August 10.
Kimya Dawson and Adam Green—the original two members of the Moldy Peaches—were featured in the recent film Meet Me in the Bathroom, which documents the New York rock scene of the early 2000s. The movie is based on Lizzy Goodman’s 2017 book of the same name and features previously unseen footage of the Moldy Peaches, as well as the Strokes, LCD Soundsystem, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and more.
The last time the Moldy Peaches went on tour was in 2003, not long before going on hiatus. Green and Dawson pursued separate solo careers, though the Moldy Peaches earned cult status over the years, especially when their music was featured in the 2007 film Juno. The Moldy Peaches played a handful of concerts between 2004 and 2011.
In 2018, the Moldy Peaches reissued their self-titled debut album along with a bonus 7″. The band released the a compilation in 2003 called Unreleased Cutz and Live Jamz 1994-2002.
