“Dexter: Original Sin” Casts Joe Pantoliano and More in Recurring Roles

The cast of Showtime’s prequel series “Dexter: Original Sin” continues to grow, with Joe Pantoliano among nine new additions in recurring roles, Deadline reports today.

Joining Emmy winner Joe Pantoliano (Bound, The Matrix, “Chucky”) are Brittany Allen (What Keeps You Alive), Randy Gonzalez (Bloodline), Aaron Jennings (Pure Genius), Raquel Justice (One Day at a Time), Jasper Lewis (V/H/S), Carlo Mendez (The Bay), Isaac Gonzalez Rossi (That’s Amor) and Roberto Sanchez (Palm Royale).

“Dexter: Original Sin” is set in 1991 Miami and revolves around Dexter (Patrick Gibson) as he goes from student to avenging serial killer. With guidance from his father, Harry (Christian Slater), Dexter adopts a Code designed to help him find and kill people without being discovered by law enforcement at the same time as he begins a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department.

In the recurring roles, Pantoliano plays Mad Dog, Allen plays Dexter’s biological mother, Laura Moser, Gonzalez plays Santos Jimenez, Jennings plays Clark Sanders, Justice plays Sofia, Lewis, Lewis plays Dexter’s adoptive mom and wife of Harry, Doris Morgan, Mendez plays Hector Estrada, Gonzalez Rossi plays Gio and Sanchez is set to play Tony Ferrer.

“Dexter” showrunner Clyde Phillips will also be showrunning the prequel series, with the first season running 10 episodes.

The series also stars James Martinez as Angel Batista, alongside Christina Milian as Maria LaGuerta, Alex Shimizu as Vince Masuka and Reno Wilson as Bobby Watt. Patrick Dempsey (Thanksgiving) plays Aaron Spencer, Captain of the Miami Metro Homicide. Sarah Michelle Gellar has signed on to play CSI Chief Tanya Martin in the upcoming prequel series.

Executive producers for “Dexter: Original Sin” include Phillips, Michael C. Hall, Scott Reynolds, Mary Leah Sutton, Tony Hernandez, Lilly Burns, Robert Lloyd Lewis, and Michael Lehmann.

It’s shaping up to be a massive cast so far. Stay tuned for additional details as they arrive.
