Euphoria continues to be such a big hit for HBO that halfway through the second season, we know its fate.

HBO has renewed the drama for its third season. This news comes after four of the eight episodes of Season 2 have aired, with the finale set for February 27. The series, created, written, directed and executive produced by Sam Levinson, stars Zendaya, who won an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her work as Rue in 2020.

“Sam, Zendaya, and the entire cast and crew of Euphoria have taken Season 2 to extraordinary heights, challenging narrative convention and form, while maintaining its heart,” Francesca Orsi, Executive Vice President, HBO Programming said in a statement. “We couldn’t be more honored to work with this gifted, wildly talented team or more excited to continue our journey with them into Season 3.”

The series also stars Hunter Schafer, Nika King, Eric Dane, Angus Cloud, Jacob Elordi, Algee Smith, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Barbie Ferreira, Maude Apatow, Javon Walton, Dominic Fike, Storm Reid, and Austin Abrams.

Joining Levinson as executive producers are Kevin Turen, Ravi Nandan, Drake, Adel “Future” Nur, Zendaya, Will Greenfield, Ashley Levinson, Ron Leshem, Daphna Levin, Hadas Mozes Lichtenstein, Gary Lennon, Mirit Toovi, Tmira Yardeni, and Yoram Mokady. Euphoria is based on the Israeli series of the same name, which was created by Ron Leshem and Daphna Levin.

The Season 2 premiere debuted as the most-viewed episode of an HBO series ever on HBO Max. It now has more than 14 million viewers across platforms, which is more than double the average audience of Season 1 (which had 6.6 million viewers per episode) in 2019. The episode was also the #1 most social premium cable episode since the Game of Thrones series finale in May 2019.
