Many American Idol fans fell in love with Triston Harper from Season 22. However, the aspiring singer recently shared a surprising life update with fans. In fact, fans got two updates about Harper’s life since his time on the show within a few days of each other. Many of Harper’s fans have also commented on the news on social media.
Triston Harper Has Some News For His ‘Harpies’
Harper appeared on the competition series back when he was 15 years old as part of the show’s 22nd season. He eventually ended up in fifth place.
Many viewers were touched by Harper’s life story, which he shared during his initial audition. He revealed that he and his mother, Hattie Mae Sullivan, became homeless shortly around the time of his 12th birthday.
Harper and his mother had to leave their hometown of McIntosh, Alabama, due to an abusive stepfather. At one point, they found themselves living on the streets of Arkansas. However, he and his mother were eventually able to return to their hometown thanks to his grandfather.
On November 6, Harper recently shared an important update with fans on Facebook. Claiming “Iv got big news harpies,” with a few heart emojis, he revealed that he recently got married to his girlfriend Paris Reed, in addition to sharing a few photos.
Fans Would Get Another Update A Few Days Later
However, that was not the only news concerning the American Idol alum. A few days later, Harper’s mother shared another update on social media.
Taking to Facebook, Sullivan shared a photo of her son and daughter-in-law holding a positive pregnancy test. As she wrote, “Now Everybody has congratulated me on Triston and Paris getting married but to me that is old news but now I’m bout to be a ‘G Ma.’”
Sullivan also added the hashtags, #TeamPink and #TeamBlue. This suggests the family is anticipating the upcoming gender reveal.
Harper himself reshared his mother’s post a few minutes later after it was posted. However, as noted by Page Six, he didn’t elaborate further.
Many commenters congratulated the couple on the news. As one wrote on the second post, “Congratulations to you both on the blessing that is coming! You will be amazing parents!! Hattie M Sullivan congratulations on becoming a future grandmother. I know you are extremely excited!! Praying for a healthy pregnancy and baby.”
Another fan wrote, “I knew it!!! Congratulations!!!! Love and prayers for you all!!! I know he will be a wonderful father he’s wise beyond his years!!!
