Hack ‘n’ Slash Runner ‘Bloodthief’ Now Available [Trailer]

Speedrunners can get their vampiric fix now that solo developr Blargis’ first-person slasher Bloodthief is now available on PC via Steam. The melee dungeon-runner is available with a 10% launch discount from now until October 6.

In Bloodthief, you play as a vampire, with the blood of your undead foes fuelling your abilities and propelling you to insane speeds. Movement and combat are deeply intertwined—you’ll need to use both in a beautiful dance of skill and carnage.

Parkour your way through medieval dungeons at implausibly fast speeds. With swipes of your blade and swift kicks, you’ll vanquish your helpless foes and drink their blood to gain speed. Use that momentum to perform the necessary jumps and wallruns in order to traverse the game’s 31 main story levels.

It’s not just mindless running, mind you. Throughout the game, you’ll uncover the terrible truths hidden behind the dungeons’ stone walls, stained glass, and bubbling lava pits. There are magical abilities and bounties of loot to be uncovered in Bloodthief’s mystical world.

Those curious runners will be rewarded with a number of secrets to uncover. That includes alternative routes off the main path and shortcuts to shave precious seconds off of your speedrun time.
