Brian Littrell Suffers Court Setback In Beach Dispute
Brian Littrell purchased a $3.8 million home in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, in 2013. The property includes a private beach on the Gulf of Mexico. The beach area is the source of trouble with the boy band member’s neighbor. Brian Littrell and his wife, Leighanne, filed a lawsuit in 2025 claiming that their neighbor, Carolyn Barrington Hill, continuously trespassed on their private beach despite the “No Trespass” signs.
The lawsuit claims “emotional distress” on the couple’s son, Baylee Littrell, over the use of the private beach. Baylee Littrell auditioned for American Idol last year with the help of his dad, but didn’t make it very far in the competition.
The case was in court this week and the judge didn’t rule in Brian Littrell’s favor. The judge dismissed the claim of “emotional distress,” noting that the couple’s BLB Beach Hut LLC, which was named a plaintiff in the case, couldn’t suffer from emotional distress.
Furthermore, the judge ruled that emotional distress claims weren’t legally permitted on a trespassing case. The judge also rejected claims from the Backstreet Boy that the neighbor videotaped them without permission, noting that they didn’t have an expectation of privacy on the beach.
The case was dismissed, but the court battle may not be over. According to PEOPLE magazine, Brian Littrell and his wife have 20 days to refile an amended complaint.
Nick Carter Has His Day In Court In Rape Case
Brian Littrell isn’t the only Backstreet Boy with legal troubles. Nick Carter has been the subject of several sexual assault claims. A member of the pop group Dream filed a lawsuit against Nick Carter, accusing him of raping her in 2003. The boy band member denied the allegations and countersued.
That case heads to trial in May 2027. Three other women made filed lawsuits with claims of sexual abuse, as well. The three other lawsuits were combined into one lawsuit, which has a court date in October 2026. Nick Carter denies all of the accusations against him.
Backstreet Boys Petition For Huge Super Bowl Gig
With everything old coming back again, the Backstreet Boys have seen a rekindled interest. They recently extended their residency at The Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada, for the third time. The group, which includes AJ McLean, Nick Carter, Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough and Kevin Richardson, appeared in Super Bowl ads for T-Mobile and Coinbase. The Coinbase ad featured their it song “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)”, sparking speculation about the 2027 Super Bowl halftime show.
Bad Bunny’s performance at the 2026 Super Bowl broke ratings records, but also faced major backlash. An online petition pitched the Backstreet Boys as headliners for next year. The boy band members co-signed the idea. They were previously asked to perform in the Super Bowl halftime show in 2001 but turned it down, performing the National Anthem instead.
