In the world of broadcast journalism, the audience is bound to have people who actually know the reporters who appear onscreen in real life. During a recent episode of Today, Savannah Guthrie got a little reassurance that her husband was watching the show. This took place following a double mishap during a serious story.
Today‘s Savannah Guthrie & Michael Feldman Have Been Married Since 2014
Guthrie first joined Today in 2011. The following year, it was announced that she would be promoted to the show’s main co-anchor, taking over for Ann Curry.
In her personal life, Savannah married Michael Feldman in 2014. Together, the two share a daughter, Vale, and a son, Charley.

During the August 11 episode of the morning news show, Guthrie revealed that Feldman contacted her after she sneezed more than once on the air.
The interruption occurred around the program’s 8 AM hour. At the time, Craig Melvin was covering a more serious story involving President Donald Trump leaving Turkey amid threats. While Guthrie couldn’t be seen physically during this time, she could be heard sneezing twice at the studio.
Guthrie’s Co-Stars, Craig Melvin & Sheinelle Jones, Also Responded To Feldman’s Thoughtful Text
After a few minutes, Melvin thought it was important to explain the sound. He shared, “Just a moment to clarify something that happened here on the air a few moments ago. Five minutes ago, I was sharing a story. You probably heard something that sounded like a sneeze. It was, in fact, not one but two sneezes from Savannah Guthrie.” Guthrie took this with a sense of humor, sharing, “It was a doubler.”
Melvin then joked that he had “managed to clean off” his shoulder, causing Guthrie to quip, “No, that is not true!” Her co-host then assured he was kidding, sharing, “All is well. Savannah is okay.”

It was then that Guthrie revealed that Feldman must’ve been watching, as he sent her a text. She explained, “I delicately sneezed over here, and then my husband texted me, ‘Bless you!’” Melvin was touched by this, saying, “He’s a good man,” before giving Guthrie another “bless you” himself.
Mevlin wasn’t the only co-star of Guthrie’s to comment on what happened. Sheinelle Jones also commended Feldman for the quick response. She mused, “I just love that he knows his wife’s sneeze!” Guthrie replied, “I know, isn’t it?”
The moment notably took place just one day after Guthrie made her return to Today following an extended absence. As previously reported, she had been away from the show as she was working on the upcoming Wordle game show.
