Stories about Howard Stern’s staffers have been making headlines over the past few months. Recently, insiders have been painting a picture on what it’s like working on his SiriusXM show. The sources highlighted interesting behavior from employees, whether at parties or during the daily grind.

Howard Stern’s Namesake Series Has Been Broadcast On SiriusXM Since 2006

Stern is a shock jock and radio personality. He is best known for his namesake radio series, The Howard Stern Show, earning him the title of “King of All Media.”

Stern originally rose to prominence through his syndicated radio series, which ran from 1986 to 2005. Since 2006, the series has been broadcast on SiriusXM.

Recently, insiders spoke with The U.S. Sun about what it is like working on Howard Stern’s shows. Describing the setting as “cult-like,” one detail a source focused on was that staffers weren’t allowed to directly address Stern at parties and company gatherings.

As the insider shared, “People were warned before any company parties not to speak to Howard, with the added note that people have actually gotten fired for it.” The outlet noted that this had long been rumored about the workplace, and Stern has denied this in the past. However, the source maintained this was true.

A Certain Stern Catchphrase Was Said To Be Used As A Regular Greeting Around The Office

The sources also described the atmosphere at Stern’s SiriusXM New York City wing as “cultish.” One source shared, “All of these men [who work for Stern] are so desperate for Howard’s attention, it’s like they all just like want Daddy’s approval so bad.”

One source highlighted that Stern’s presence is made known even without him being physically there. They expressed, “I think that a lot of them like acted out to get that attention. You go into that compound, and it’s just pictures of Howard everywhere.”

Even a Stern catchphrase was used by staffers to address each other. They shared that “everyone greets each other like ‘Hey now, hey now.’ And it all seems light and fun, but once you step back, you see it as something else.”

Another source echoed similar sentiments. As they weighed in, they noted the cycle this kind of work environment creates. They shared, “Whenever you’re part of something, and you know someone is in charge of everything, you know you want to please that person.”
