Viewers recently saw Jane Krakowski return for a new season of Name That Tune. However, there have been a few changes this season. In fact, Krakowski explained a new, personal change that might surprise fans.
Jane Krakowski Has Been Part Of Fox’s Revival Of Name That Tune Since 2021
Krakowski is an actress and singer known for her works in a number of shows. These include 30 Rock, Ally McBeal, and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
Since 2021, Krakowski has also hosted Fox’s Name That Tune. A reboot of the 1950s game show, the show has players identify various songs performed by an on-stage orchestra or band.
The game show returned for a new season on September 21. Before this, however, Krakowski appeared on Today with Jenna and Sheinelle. During her appearance, Bush Hager shared, “This is such a cute show. It’s something the family can watch together, which is what we want.”
For her part, Krakowski shared, “We can all guess together, which I did when I watched the original show back in the day. Now, we’re on Season 6 already, and I’m so thrilled that we’ve come back for another season with Robin Thicke bringing his smooth tunes and some dad jokes, which I’m getting used to. I called Ken Jeong, saying, ‘How do you deal with this?’” Krakowski added, “It’s like a live concert every episode, and I hope that transfers to people who watch it at home, too. It’s so fun.”

As fans know, Thicke took over for Randy Jackson, who previously served as the show’s resident bandleader. However, that’s not the only change fans can expect this season.
According to Krakowski, after being asked if she was good at playing the game, You know, I’ve sort of tried to play along because I don’t know if I’m good or not good at Name That Tune. Because, like you, I have the cards in my hands with the answers. And so, recently, in the last season, I decided to not look at the answers prior to at least one round, which is my favorite round called Remixed, where they take a song that you know from one genre and put it in another genre.
Krakowski explained, “It’s one of the harder games, but I love it, and they always try to surprise me. Our music team always tries to surprise me with them. So, this year, I played along live, and Name That Tune is hard.”
Sheinelle Jones then noted that, like most game shows, the player is also put on the spot. Krakowski mused, “Especially for our contestants, who are either trying to win $100,000, or the celebrities who come on to raise a lot of money for their very worthy charities. So, we’re so thankful for everyone who comes on and is game to play.”
