Anne Hathaway stepped out for one of two events on Thursday, March 9, proudly sporting her second Versace LBD of the evening. The 8th annual Hollywood Beauty Awards benefiting the Helen Woodward Animal Center took place at Taglyan Complex, following Donatella Versace’s outdoor debut of her fall 2023 collection, which capped off Fashion Month with an onslaught of celebrities in the front row.
Hathaway’s glam squad, which includes stylist Erin Walsh, helped her make a quick change into this sultry black gown with a sharply defined W-shaped corset cutout at the bodice. The logofied spaghetti straps and Hathaway’s matching strappy sandals took influence from the early aughts, and her dress was even equipped with a slit at the back to better show off her shoes as she posed for the cameras. The 40-year-old “She Came to Me” actress contrasted all the gold hardware with diamond-encrusted Bulgari jewels, including a chain-link choker, Serpenti Viper cuff, and stacked rings. She sported a cat eye that was a subtle nod to her black-tip manicure with an iridescent sheen, plus pink blush and a roseberry lip. Her brown hair was parted at the center and fell into long, loose waves that framed her shoulders.
At the Versace show, Hathaway stuck to the same beauty look and rocked the same accessories, albeit with a croc-effect leather minidress, tights, and platform boots. At the Berlin Film Festival in February, she also opted for leather in a sheer Valentino midi covered in bows and complemented by opera-length gloves. Her hoodied Alaïa set, what with its leather-wrapped zipper skirt and plunging bodysuit, reflected the same aesthetic. And at Sundance in January, she made headlines in a Versace corseted puffer coat.
