Prince George Has Cheeky Moment as Page of Honour at

Prince George served as a Page of Honour at his grandfather King Charles’ coronation today, but the nine-year-old, who is third in line to the throne, did have one moment of levity while on duty. Prince William and Kate Middleton’s oldest son stuck his tongue out at one point in front of photographers. Kids are still kids, after all.

Otherwise, George was relatively stoic in his uniform.

George’s younger brother and sister Louis, 5, and Charlotte, 8, also attended the coronation, although they did not have roles in the ceremony. They were seated with their parents. Charlotte notably wore a flower crown, the closest she has gotten to her first tiara moment as princess.

Kate spoke before the coronation about how her kids were less anxious than she was about the ceremony during a conversation with Mandy Leifheit of Seattle, Washington, while at Dog & Duck Pub in London’s Soho on Thursday. Leifheit shared the conversation with People.

“I asked if the kids were excited about the coronation, and she said, ‘They’re very excited. They had their rehearsal yesterday [Wednesday] so they knew what they’d expect,’” Leifheit said.

“She said she’s more nervous than the kids are since it’s such a big event for the kids to be part of. She said Louis will be there and that he’ll remember it,” Leifheit continued. She had generally glowing things to say about Kate and the impression she took away from their conversation: “It was a dream. She’s amazing. She’s so real and so natural—and this would be overwhelming but it’s not and she’s here.”
