Who would have thought that a prequel to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory would be a great idea? The very first trailer for Wonka! Our first peek didn’t disappoint. We are especially fond of the dynamic between Wonka and the Oompa Loompa played by Hugh Grant. Primarily because who in the world would ever selected Grant as an Oompa Loompa?! Gotta love the awkward pick.
The new story is taking us back to where it all started. That means that we will be able to see the young eccentric Wonka become the overly eccentric Rohld Dahl character that we all know and love today.
The synopsis for Wonka went like this:
An intoxicating mix of magic and music, mayhem and emotion, all told with fabulous heart and humor. Starring Timothée Chalamet in the title role, this irresistibly vivid and inventive big screen spectacle will introduce audiences to a young Willy Wonka, chock-full of ideas and determined to change the world one delectable bite at a time—proving that the best things in life begin with a dream, and if you’re lucky enough to meet Willy Wonka, anything is possible.
