Retro Jurassic Park Games Being Reanimated for New Consoles

master mentalism tricks

Jurassic Park is being brought back from the dead again. This time in the form of its original two games, Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park 2: The Chaos Continues. Limited Run Games has decided to resurrect these two classic games, bringing them to both consoles and PC.

To be clear, these are not full HD updates of the games. They have added a few quality-of-life fixes, such as new-in game maps. Limited Run Games is making a name for itself in the video game world as a type of necromancer, bringing the games back to life so to speak. OK, I’ll stop with the re-animation jokes.

Jurassic Park Classic

These updated Jurassic Park games will be available for pre-order on September 1 and will be available through October 15. They will be released in various package deals depending on what you are looking for.

  • The Standard Edition: ($29.99) Will include a base copy of the game.
  • The Classic Edition: ($64.99) Will include the physical copy of the game as well as a steelbook case. It will also include a VHS inspired package.
  • The Prehistoric Edition ($174.99) This edition will have Dr. Grants ID from the base game, mini replicas of both games on their original consoles, and a CD containing the original soundtrack to both games. As well as everything mention in the Classic Edition.

For those that love Jurassic Park with all of their being, you may be interested in the Retro Editions.

  • Standard Edition: ($49.99-$64.99) This edition includes a choice of one of the games in a amber cartridge with an replica of the game manual from the original game.
  • Collector’s Edition ($99.99) This edition features a selection of either game in an amber cartridge, a replica of the original manual, a double-sided poster, and a numbered foil stamp.

Jurassic Park Classic

I know that I have complained in the past about nostalgia farming, but I am completely on board with this approach. I just hope that one day we get to see a really horrific version of Jurassic Park the way that Michael Crichton (Sphere) intended.

As always, make sure to check back here for updates and all of your horror news.
