Filmmaker Tony Morales has made short foreign horror films over the past several years. These films have all the ingredients that make up the fabric of a terrifying and impactful experience for audiences. Morales always captures the cultural differences, unique elements, and familiar settings however, still creating a cloud of unnerving energy. The novelty and the exploration of these fears and taboos can create a terrifying experience, leaving a lasting impression.
Horror Short Film – ‘Alicia’
Morales’s newest horror short, Alicia, is currently making the festival run, and he delivers the terror in just over five minutes. Carolina will have to face her childhood fears of her daughter Alicia, who has just gone blind. Alicia believes that an older woman lives in her room; she can sense it and is genuinely afraid as she describes what the woman is looking at and saying.

Even though the run time wasn’t long, Morales’s characters, use of lighting, and sound make for a terrifying good time. Over the years, I have watched Tony’s short films, and he never disappoints and continues to grow as a filmmaker and storyteller.
