American Football have shared a new song titled “Rare Symmetry” and a cover of Mazzy Star’s classic “Fade Into You,” featuring guests vocals from Miya Folick. They will be released as a 10″ vinyl single via Polyvinyl on June 10. Both songs mark American Football’s final recordings with drummer and trumpeter Steve Lamos, a founding member of the band, who announced his departure earlier this year. Give them a listen below.
Last year, American Football headlined a coronavirus relief music festival in Minecraft and performed their staple “Stay Home” from the comfort of their homes. Their most recent records, a third full-length album titled American Football (LP3) and the newly remastered demo collection Year One Demos, came out in 2019.
