It’s been a whirlwind 24 hours in the Big Brother house, with Ashley blowing up her game and getting evicted in a landslide 14-0 vote.
The second round of the game got into full swing in the aftermath, with Survivor alum Rick Devens winning the second Head of Household competition of Big Brother Season 28.
This is good news for Angela, Barrett, Drew, and Dee, who have been closely aligned with Rick since the jump.

It’s even better news for Dee, who is coming off her reign as Head of Household because if someone not in her alliance won this week, she would have very likely taken a visit to the block.
When the feeds returned on Thursday evening, there was a wealth of scheming.
Rick was vocal about not wanting to put the same people on the block this week, which is music to my ears.
Does anyone else hate when people just go on the block because they’ve already been up there before?

It’s a poor excuse, so I respect Rick for straying far away from that. We learned that he promised Haley safety during the HOH competition.
After LaTrice floated her name as a potential target, Rick shut that talk down and affirmed that he would not be going back on his word.
Rick Devens Has a Plan on Big Brother
As the night progressed, many options were sent his way, but the master plan is to nominate Jason, Lyric, and Melody and then backdoor Rome.
This isn’t a bad plan, particularly because none of them are working with Rick or any of the other reality TV alums.

While this is a sound plan in theory, Rome could potentially be chosen to play in the Veto and save Lyric, and if that happens, I expect Jason would talk himself into becoming the target by Thursday evening.
Jason has made some strange moves over the last week and has been putting his loyalty in the wrong people.
As a result, I don’t envision him lasting for much longer unless he starts winning competitions.
Then there’s the possibility of Rome actually going. In a sense, he’s made his bed.

He tried to cut a deal with Rick to not put Jason and Lyric on the block. This was after Rick admitted that Lyric had been giving him nothing in any of their chats.
Had Rome been smart, he would have kept quiet and cut a deal for himself. How is Lyric supposed to be held to a deal that Rome makes for her?
Is Rome Next to be Evicted?
For that reason alone, I wouldn’t be mad if Rome was the next evicted. He’s already a target due to his showmance with Lyric, so why not just get him out of there now?
I’m concerned that the reality TV veterans could turn this into a steamroll season, where the power doesn’t really shift to other sides of the house.

So, while I like Angela, Dee, and Rick, I want them to have to work to stay in the house and seeing them manoeuvre their way through a week of them not in power would be fun to watch.
When the Big Brother feeds returned after the nominations ceremony, Rick nominated Jason, Lyric, and Melody.
This Golden Power of Veto promises to be a game-changing event, you guys!
What are your thoughts Rick’s nominations? Are you rooting for him, or do you want him to feel the heat on Big Brother Season 28?
