Miu Miu
Miuccia Prada knows how much (or rather, how little) we want to get dressed right now. She’s been on the money for the last few seasons, sensing how women (and men) are dressing and pushing their aesthetic further, little by little. The show started out with four simple cotton pieces, layered on top of each other, and expanded on the sense of ease, utility, and security with sun-faded denim suits, distressed leather, and massive cargo pockets on nylon trenches, micro miniskirts (they’re not going anywhere anytime soon), and bra tops. Sheer knit sweater-skirt sets and some pretty fantastical beaded co-ords rounded out exactly what we’re looking for in our wardrobe. As Prada states, “Because times are difficult, it does not mean we should not create. But we have to ensure every piece has purpose and reason. This is not a time for meaningless fashion.”—Kevin LeBlanc, fashion associate
