Ok everyone, you know the drill. It’s a new week and we have rounded up all of the best new horror films coming to streaming platforms this week so that you don’t have to. We’re just awesome that way. So, without any further ado, let’s jump right in.

Does the idea of going on a run with your significant other send chills up your spine? Well then, Brightwood may be just the horror flick for you. Written, and directed by Dane Elcar (The Pond), this mind-bending thriller shows us that were aren’t always safe in nature.
This film stars Dana Berger (Orange is the New Black) and Max Woertendyke (Succession). If you are looking for a trippy indie film to stream this week, check out Brightwood.
Belle August 22nd VOD

Happily ever after gritty reboots seems to be all the rage nowadays. Belle is no exception to this new trend. This fantasy horror flicks takes us on a darker and more mystical version of Beauty and the Beast.
Max Gold (Silicon Beach) writes and directs this retelling. This film stars Andrea Snædal (Silicon Beach), Ingi Hrafn Hilmarsson (Vera) and Gudmundur Thorvaldsson (The Fifth Estate). If you want to add some fantasy horror to your streaming lineup this week, go watch Belle.
The Entity August 22nd VOD
The Entity
Who is ready for some Filipino horror? I have no idea what this film is about. But it looks dark, terrifying and unsettling. And honestly, that’s all that I need to be excited about this release.
Erik Matti (Honor Thy Father) takes the helm as writer and director of this film, alongside co-writer Katski Flores (Still Life). If you are looking for an international flick to stream this week, check out The Entity.
Subject August 22nd Screambox

The great people over at Screambox keep giving us new amazing horror flicks to check out. By far, my most highly anticipated release this week is Subject. Combining found footage elements with psychological torment sounds like a blast.
Tristan Barr (Watch the Sunset) directs this film, with the screenplay penned by Vincent Befi (Ant-Man). If you want to stream something brutal this week, check out Subject.
The Dive August 25th VOD

Do you know what’s scarier than being trapped under a rock? Being trapped under a rock while underwater in the ocean. That’s the simple plot of The Dive and I can’t think of a worse scenario to be in. Aside from getting trapped in a burning wicker-type structure filled with bees, that is. But how often does that actually happen?
This film is written and directed by Maximilian Erlenwein (Gravity), alongside co-writer Joachim Hedén (Family). If you want to stream something that will tickle your thalassophobia, check out The Dive.

To wrap things up, we’re presenting a classic slasher that targets the film industry. Will this film actively critique how women are treated within the film industry? Or will it be a mediocre slasher? It’s really anyone’s guess at this point.
